You can add a search module to your inCMS webpage. Website visitors can search for a word and will be guided to the relevant subpages. The search module is a basic word-search module. It won’t detect typo’s and it won’t suggest related words.

Add the search module - step 1

First, add a new hidden page to your website. This means: set the properties to “not in menu” and “not in index”. This extra, hidden, page is needed to enable the search module to work.

In this hidden page, add the search fullview module. Click on the plus symbol. A pop-up menu appears. Click on “search” (in the section features). Select “fullview”.

Now, you have a hidden page with just the search fullview module.

Add the search module - step 2

Now, go to the webpage where you’d like to add the search box. This is the box in which website visitors can type a word for which they are searching. You can add the box on a specific subpage or you can add it in the global banner or footer if you want it to be shown on every page.

Click on the plus symbol. A pop-up menu appears. Click on “search” (in the section features). This time, select “searchbox”. The module will be added to your page.

Test the search module

You have now successfully added the search module to your website. To test it, log out of the website and go to the page with the searchbox. Type a word you’d like to search for. The searchbox will show you the subpages on which this word is used.

When you click on one of these options, you’ll be redirected to this page. The word you’re searching for will be highlighted in yellow.
